Finding the right Web & Domain Name Hosting for your website is vital to the success of your business. What good is a website if nobody can find it? Or if it's down half the time? Or ridiculously slooooooooow?

Below you'll find some short reviews of Web Hosting Services and Domain Registrars I have used myself or people I know and trust have used. So no rehashed hear-say mumbo jumbo. Just the facts and my personal opinion. They're not listed in any particular order, each one has its own strengths and benefits.

Namecheap

Namecheap is currently my favourite registrar. It's cheap, reliable and offers 1 year free private domain registration.

On top of the free WHOISGuard, you also have the option to choose 1 year of free PositiveSLL. Which is great if you plan on receiving sensitive information like credit card details and the likes

Give them a try with the coupon code: snowneedle

Or use the transfer coupon code switch2nc to transfer a domain to Namecheap.

GoDaddy

GoDaddy is probably the most popular domain registrar. They always offer some kind of a discount. I can recommend them for domain names, but don't host your site with them (they're not all that reliable).

The only downside compared to the other registrars I use is that you have to pay for private domain registration. Oh, and they tend to bombard you with upsells (but you can easily ignore these, I do :-)).

The one thing I always use GoDaddy for is domain name research. They give a list of other variations to a domain that's already in use.

Look up a few domain names yourself and see if you like it.

1 And 1

1 and 1 still holds several of my domains. It's cheap and offers 1 year free private domain registration. Of the 3 domain registrars listed here they are usually the cheapest (without using coupons and taking the free WHOISGuard into account).

Web Hosting

HostMonster

A couple of months ago I got myself 3 years of hosting with HostMonster. For the last 3 months they have had a 100% uptime. Which is pretty fantastic in my opinion.

Getting started was pretty easy, I just followed their instructions and video tutorials. They use cPanel, which is quite intuitive to use. There's only one part of cPanel I don't like, you can read about in my Wealthy Affiliate Hosting review below. See what their user panel looks like here.

The best feature of HostMonster is something called SimpleScripts. It's like Fantastico on speed. If you're familiar with Fantastico, you know it's pretty easy to use. Well, I think SimpleScripts is even better. They seem to offer version updates faster as well.

You can check out what's included in your account here. Some bonuses that aren't mentioned on that site are: Google Adwords $50 coupon, Yahoo Search Marketing $25 coupon, Ask up to $50 coupon, Miva $50 coupon and a whole bunch of free trials (some more useful than others).

They don't offer monthly payments like HostGator for example (see below). They do offer a prorated refund at the monthly rate should you decide to cancel your account somewhere down the line.

HostGator is one of the most popular hosting services. And their fantastic support, along with their wide variety of products is most likely responsible for this.

They help you move your website (domain, files, database and scripts) in case you're coming from another host. Which can be a bit of a hassle to do yourself if you're technically challenged (been there, done that).

Regular hosting starts from as little as $4.95 (3 year contract). I do recommend you pay a little more for the Baby plan though. You'll likely end up making more than one site and the Baby plan allows you to have unlimited domains and subdomains. You can get it for $9.95/month if you choose a contract of 1 year or monthly payments.

The monthly payments are great if you can't cough up the necessary cash to pay for a year or more.

Try them out for only 1 cent (code: wordpress)!

Reseller hosting is available from $24.95/month. If you're an experienced webmaster/internet marketer this is a good choice, even if you don't plan on selling hosting yourself. Having one website per account has several benefits. Creating new accounts is child's play. As is setting all the limits. They offer some very clear video tutorials, which were all I needed to set things up. At the moment you'll receive a free copy of "The Web Hosting Book" (a $47 value) if you get a reseller account.

HostGator also offers VPS hosting. I haven't got a clue what VPS hosting is, and at the moment I'm not inclined to find out. So I can't comment on whether it's any good, but based on their other packages I'm assuming you'll get the same quality and support. Prices start at $19.95/month.

I have no experience with their Dedicated Servers yet either, but I know people who have and they are more than happy with it. They were particularly pleased with all the support and updates they received regarding their websites.
You can choose from 4 Linux Server and 4 Windows Server packages. Dedicated hosting is available from $174.00.

Wealthy Affiliate Hosting

Wealthy Affiliate Hosting is a bit special. They don't offer typical web domain name hosting. They offer much, much more. I'm not going to go into detail here, if you go to the homepage, you can leave your name and e-mail address to receive an in depth guide on Wealthy Affiliate University.

Their hosting package is certainly more limited than the ones mentioned above. But I still recommend them with all my heart (and grey matter, seriously, WA just makes sense).

The hosting uses Plesk instead of cPanel. Now, my first hosting steps were made there and I thought it was very easy to use and navigate. People who are used to cPanel seem to disagree, but I think it's just a matter of getting used to. I absolutely prefer how domains and subdomains work in Plesk to cPanel.

What makes Wealthy Affiliate Hosting so great, is the fact that they teach you how to make the most of your website. Whether you just want more traffic or want it to make more money, they have guides, tutorials and videos to guide you in the right direction. The site builder, keyword and all the other tools are just the icing on the cake.

Most importantly though, you also have access to the 2 founders of Wealthy Affiliate University and the forum (which is frequently visited by 6- and 7-figure marketers, handing out information you'd expect to pay thousands of dollars for).

Wealthy Affiliate Hosting is more than just a place to dump a website. It can change your life for the better (it certainly has for me and thousands of others). As long as you're willing to spend some time learning all the basics.

Go get the Wealthy Affiliate Unplugged guide at the homepage. Then come back here when you decide to signup and choose one of the following 3 bonuses:

Get a FREE copy of Beating Adwords (learn pay per click from 2 professionals)

Get a FREE copy of Inside The List (everything you need to know about e-mail marketing)

Get a FREE copy of Who Loves Money (learn how to make money, without spending money)

PS: Those aren't some cheap PLR books, but top sellers on Clickbank, worth well over $40.
